Pianist Paul Badura-Skoda died at home in Vienna, Austria on the 25th. He was 91 years old. He was born in Vienna, studied in Conservatory of the City of Vienna. After he won the Austrian Music Competition in 1947, and then studied in Switzerland with Edwin Fischer, known as the famous pianist. Along with the same generation of Friedrich Gulda and Jörg Demus, he was known as one of the “Viennese Troika”. First visit to Japan in 1959. Since then, he has been to Japan and scheduled to perform in Japan this October.
