AMSTERDAM 〓 Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra appoints Daniel Harding as the conductor of the US tour

It was revealed that Daniel Harding will be appointed by the Royal Concertgebou Orchestra to the conductor of the US tour to be held next February.

A substitute for Daniele Gatti who was dismissed as the principal conductor because the alleged sexual harassment emerged.

The US tour will go around Chicago, Washington, New York as well as Florida’s Naples from February 9th to 15th. Pierre-Laurent Aimard is the soloist.

Harding was 43 years old, born in Oxford, England in 1975. He has served as the music director of Orchester de Paris since the 2016/2017 season.

But he has already announced that he will resign as the term of office in 2019 expires. With this appointment, there is also a direction that Harding seems to rise rapidly as Gatti’s successor candidate.

However, Harding was once told that he wishes to suspend activities for a while after leaving Orchester de Paris in order to obtain a Pilot license.
