The final round of the 1st “International Viktor Tretyakov Violin Competition” was held on October 1st. Four finalists played concerto with Krasnoyarsk Academy Symphony Orchestra conducted by Vladimir Rande. As a result, Russian Sergei Dogadin won. Chisa Kitagawa of Japan and Runyin Zhang of China shared 2nd place and 3rd place was Shucong He of China. He also received the “Yulian Sitkovetsky Award”. The prize money ranks first for $ 15,000, second for $ 10,000 and third for $ 6,600. Dogadin was born in St. Petersburg in 1988. In the 14th “Tchaikovsky International Competition” of 2011, he has won the highest rank without first place.

The competition was intended for 16 to 30 year olds and is held from 23rd September to 1st October at Tretyakov’s hometown Krasnoyarsk. Tretyakov, who was the chairman of the Jury himself, was 71 years old born in 1946. Learned at the Moscow Conservatory, he won the 1st place at the third “Tchaikovsky International Competition” in 1966 who was 19 years old. While continuing active internationally, he served as a professor of the alma mater and served as the chairman of the “Tchaikovsky International Competition” from 1986 to 1994. Jurys include Vadim Repin, Kurt Sassmannshaus, Takashi Shimizu, and Doradin’s teacher Boris Kushnir. Four finalists will be given a chance to co-star with the Siberian National Symphony Orchestra in the 2019/2020 season.
