PRAGUE 〓 Bychkov is appointed chief conductor of Czech Philharmonic Orchestra

The Czech Philharmonic Orchestra has decided to welcome Semyon Bychkov as the principal conductor since the 2018/19 season. Succeeded Jiří Bělohlávek who died at the age of 71 in May 2017. Bychkov was born in the former USSR / Leningrad. It is a Jewish Russian and now is a US citizen. He has served as Music Director of Orchester de Paris (1989 – 1998), Principal Conductor of WDR Sinfonieorchester Köln of Germany (1997 – 2010), and so on.
