The Berliner Philharmoniker will be holding their famous open-air concert “Wald Bühne” in Japan next summer at the Kawaguchiko Stellar Theater in Yamanashi Prefecture. The concert is part of the orchestra’s Japan tour, and was announced by Fuji Television, who invited the orchestra to perform. It will be held on July 5th and 6th.

The Berlin Philharmonic’s Waldbühne concerts are held every June at the Waldbühne, an open-air amphitheatre in the suburbs of Berlin that was built for the 1936 Berlin Olympics and used as a venue for gymnastics events. The concerts are the Berlin Philharmonic’s annual season-ending event. The concerts were first held in 1984, and this will be the first time they have been held overseas.
