Russian media reported that Valery Gergiev, who is leading the Mariinsky Theater Orchestra on an Italian tour, was infected with Covid. Due to Gergiev’s positive reaction, the concerts in Brescia on the 11th and Rome on the 12th were cancelled. The pianist Daniil Trifonov, who co-stars with them, has also tested positive.

Regarding the Mariinsky Theater Orchestra, at the end of last month, more than 50 members of the orchestra gave a positive reaction, but except for the members who have symptoms, they went on a Moscow tour. After that, they set out on an Italian tour. A performance at La Scala in Milan is scheduled for the 14th, but the cancellation has not yet been announced.
