France’s Opéra National de Bordeaux has announced that it will welcome Emmanuel Hondré as the next Intendant. He will replace Marc Minkowski, who has been in charge since 2016, and Hondré’s term will start in the 2022/2023 season.

Hondré is 53 years old and is currently the Performances director of the Philharmonie de Paris and Cite de la Music in Paris. Since last year, Minkowski has often been in conflict with management and orchestras, and it has been said that the contract will not be extended.
