The International Mozart Foundation in Salzburg has announced a lineup of performances for the music festival “Mozart Week” in January next year.
The music festival is held every year on before and after January 27, the birthday of composer Mozart, and has been directed by tenor singer Rolando Villazon since 2019.
According to the announcement, it will be held from January 21st to 31st next year. The theme is “Musico drammatico” and 56 events will be held during the period.
However, due to the re-expansion of the new corona infection, the opera performance will be postponed, and the performance will be held shorten the performance time and limit the audience seats.
In addition to the appearance of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra with Mitsuko Uchida, a duo of Martha Argerich and Daniel Barenboim will also appear.
Alain Altinoglu will conduct the concert of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra on the 27th. On the 22nd, Robert Levin and the Hermes String Quartet will unveil a newly excavated work in D major, KV626b / 16.
