Sebastian F. Schwartz, who served as the general director of the festival, resigned in November. He served as general manager since 2015. Schwarz was born in 1974, formerly East Germany Rostock. He studied vocal performance and musicology in Berlin and theater management in Venice, after that he repeated careers at Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Theater an der Wien in Vienna, Wexford festival opera in Ireland, the Hamburg State Opera in Germany etc. , He was appointed general manager of the Grindbourne Opera Festival as successor to David Pickard. He founded the International Vocal Competition “Grindbone Opera Cup”, and will serve as the chairman of the judge here at the March 2018 competition.
