TURIN 〓 RAI National Symphony Orchestra cancels concert tour to Spain

The RAI National Symphony Orchestra(Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI)based in Turin has announced on March 5 that the concert tour to Spain will be canceled. The spread of the new coronavirus in Italy is expanding.

The tour, led by chief conductor James Conlon, was scheduled to perform in Madrid, Alicante, Murcia, Oviedo, and San Sebastian from March 11 to March 15.

The tour was to be accompanied by violinist Michael Barenboim. Mozart’s “La Clemenza di Tito” Overture, Violin Concerto No. 1 and Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 “Titan” were programmed.

The concert on the home ground scheduled for March 5 and 6 before the tour was also canceled.
