VIENNA 〓 Bernard Haitink becomes an honorary member of the Vienna Philharmonic

The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra has decided to give Bernard Haitink the title of honorary member. He will be conducting a concert of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra this summer at the Salzburg Festival (Beethoven’s piano concerto No. 4, Bruckner’s symphony No. 7), at which time the award ceremony will be held. Haitinck first Conducted the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra in 1972. It has stood on its podium more than 100 times so far.
