HONG KONG 〓 Hong Kong Phil holds a concert of HK$200, Mahler conducted by Zweden

Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra will start a concert of HK$200 for all seats free from the 2018/2019 season. The current music director is Jaap van Zweden, who is in his seventh year in office. Zweden is in the process of Mahler cycle, and this season is No. 2 (May 17, 18th, 19th), No. 7 (November 16th and 17th this year), No. 9 (April 26th, 2007 Day) is taken up. Among them, No. 7 and No. 9 will be held as a concert of HK$200.

The season for the milestone of the 45th anniversary of the 2018/2019 season. It began with the concert (soloist Leila Josefowicz) conducted by Zweden on August 31st. On the 14th and 15th of September the 45th anniversary concert was held with Edo de Waart, a conductor who served as music director from 2004 to 2012. This season, Leonard Slatkin, who will be the first collaboration with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, David Atherton and Osmo Vänskä are scheduled to be guest conductors.
