BEIJING 〓 Piano Event in China Creates New Guinness World Record

At Wuqiang in Hebei Province, China, 639 participants played a total of 666 pianos simultaneously, renewing Guinness World Records. The record that 555 pianos were played in Incheon of Korea in 2007 was the best so far. It was done as a charity event to support children with disabilities in the eyes. In addition to piano teachers, students, music enthusiasts throughout China, pianists from eight countries and regions participated and played Schubert’s “Marches Militaires”. The total amount of the piano is over 50 million yuan ($ 7 million).
