CALGARY 〓 The Georgian pianist has won the 9th Honens International Piano Competition

The 9th “Honens International Piano Competition” which was held in Calgary, Canada ended. This year Georgian pianist Nicolas Namoradze was chosen as a winner. Competition founded by philanthropist Esther Honens in 1991, the prize money is as high as 100,000 Canadian dollars, winners are given a three-year career up program. Namoraze was born in Tybricsi, capital of Georgia in 1992, 26 years old. After studying at the Franz Liszt Conservatory in Hungary from the age of 12, he studied under the Eliso Virsaladze which Georgia born at Italy’s Fiesole Music School.

Competition is held once every three years, and can be from 20 to 30 years old. Style is different from traditional competition. 50 pianists selected at the document examination perform the program thought by themselves under the same condition and receive an interview. Preliminary review will be carried out on that recording. In addition to stage performance, the objective is to simultaneously check programming ability, communication ability with audiences. The final round will be held in Calgary around ten people, which is characterized by its ability to accompany. Past prizes include Dmitrii Teterin, Krzysztof Jablonski, Winston Choi, Roberto Plano, Pavel Kolesnikov and others.
