ST. PETERSBURG 〓 Charles Dutoit will be the Principal Guest Conductor for the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra

St.Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra announced that Charles Dutoit will be Principal Guest Conductor from 2018/2019 season. The first concert is in May 2019. Dutoit served as music director of Canadian Montreal Symphony Orchestra from 1977 to 2002, but in December last year four musicians were accused of having suffered sexual harassment during that period. Following that, he gradually resigned posts such as the art director of the British Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. St.Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra is the Leningrad Philharmonic Orchestra of the Soviet era. Led by Evgeni Mravinsky who served as music director for a long time, it is a prestige who was regarded as the best orchestra of the Soviet Union.
