The Nashville Symphony Orchestra in the United States has announced that it will resume operations for the 2026–2027 season. Earlier in October, the board of directors had declared a financial emergency and announced the suspension of activities, as well as the furloughing of staff and musicians. A pledge of $10 million in support from the major software company Oracle paved the way for this resumption of operations.

Established in 1946 and based at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center, the orchestra boasts a record of 27 Grammy nominations and 14 wins. It draws an annual audience of approximately 550,000, primarily from the Middle Tennessee region, and has welcomed Leonard Slatkin—a titan of the conducting world—as music director for his second tenure starting this season.

Oracle CEO Clay Magouyrk stated, “Nashville is a city that understands the power of music to bring people together. As we build our new headquarters on Nashville’s East Bank, we aim to help address community challenges and contribute to ensuring that Nashville remains a vibrant place for people to live and work for generations to come.”
