Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Flórez has announced the launch of a new record label of his own. It will be called Flórez Records, and the first album will be released in the fall of 2024. The first release will be an album by Zarzuela.
They will perform with the youth orchestra and choir of Sinfonia por el Perú, a social activity founded and supported by Flores, and this will be their first recording. Guillermo Garcia Calvo, who has served as music director of the Teatro Nacional de Zarzuela in Madrid (2020-2024), will conduct.
Flores, 51, was born in the capital city of Lima and made his stunning debut in 1996 at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, Italy, where he has since become a star singer with his taut and beautiful voice. He has been signed by Sony Classical and Decca Classics. He was also appointed artistic director of the festival last year.
