Hungarian soprano Sylvia Geszty died on Stuttgart on the 15th. she was 84 years old. She was good at the role of coloratura, including the Queen of the night of Mozart ‘s opera “Magical Flute”. She was born in Budapest in 1934. After graduating from Franz Liszt Academy of Music, she debuted in Opera in 1959. In 1960, she won a third prize at “Robert Schumann International Music Competition” and debuted in 1961 at the Berlin State Opera and the Komische Oper. After that, she moved the base of her activity to Berlin, and she has performed with conductors such as Otmar Suitner and Kurt Masur, who represented East Germany, and also recorded.
