VIENNA 〓 Anna Netrebko & Yusif Evyazov Separate After 10 Years

2024/06/27

International soprano Anna Netrebko released a statement on June 26, announcing that she and her husband, tenor Yusif Eyvazov, have ended their marriage. The statement reads, “After 10 happy years together, we have made the difficult but amicable decision to separate. We will remain wonderful friends, united in our love for Tiago, and look forward to our announced and future stage collaborations. We will not be commenting further and thank everyone for respecting our family’s privacy.”

The couple began dating in 2014 when they performed together in Puccini’s “Manon Lescaut” at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma and married in 2015. They are the best-known couple in the opera world and have performed together numerous times. They lived in Vienna with their 15-year-old son Tiago, the son of Netrebko and baritone Erwin Schrott. After Russia’s armed invasion of Ukraine, they continued to perform together under the same management.

Netrebko is now 52 years old. Eyvazov, on the other hand, is 47. His father is an Azerbaijani meteorologist, and he was born in Algeria and raised in Baku. He is also one of the leading singers of his generation and has been the general director of the National Opera and Ballet of his native Azerbaijan since 2023. He moved to a Swiss management earlier this month in preparation for his divorce.
