PARIS 〓 Jaap van Zweden Named Next Music Director of the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra

The Paris-based Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra has announced that Jaap van Zweden will be its next music director, succeeding Mikko Frank, who has held the position since 2015. Zweden’s term will begin in the 2026/2027 season.

Zweden was born in Amsterdam and is 63 years old. He had been music director of the New York Philharmonic since 2018 and of the Hong Kong Philharmonic since 2012, both stepping down at the end of the 2023/2024 season. He has since served as music director of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra since 2024.
