Associated Press released an article on the 6th that gathered 11 new testimonies accusing sexual harassment by Leading tenor Singer Plácido Domingo. On August 13, AP Newsletter delivered 9 testimonies accusing sexual harassment, which had a major impact on the opera society.

This is the second bullet. Many of the testimonies are set in Washington Opera and Los Angeles Opera. Domingo was the artistic director of the Washington Opera from 1996 to 2011, and the general director of the Los Angeles Opera since 2001.

This time, soprano singer Angela Turner Wilson and Melinda McLain, former production coordinator of the Los Angeles Opera, testified in real names. The 11 testimony talks about actions that were not desired, such as touching the body, being kissed, requesting visits, or calling late at night.

Among other things, Wilson talked about the damage when Domingo reached out to the inside of the robe and grabbed the chest when he co-starred in the 1999/2000 season of the Washington Opera “Le Cid”. She has worked in Opera Company of North America and won the 2000 Best Singer Award at the Washington National Opera. She is currently an associate professor at Christian University in Texas.

In response to AP reports, the Los Angeles Opera, where Domingo is the general director, said that the accusations were “very seriously taken” and announced that “no further comments will be made while the investigation is underway” did.

Nancy Seltzer, a spokesperson for Domingo, has released a comment.“Due to an ongoing investigation, we will not comment on specifics, but we strongly dispute the misleading picture that the AP is attempting to paint of Mr. Domingo.”
