Dresden 〓 Saxony State Opera announced a performance lineup for the 2019/2020 season

The Saxony State Opera known as “Semper Opere” announced a performance lineup for the 2019/2020 season. The new production will be the six following performances. Rossini’s “Il Viaggio a Reims”, Ligeti’s “Le Grand Macabre”, Wagner’s “Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg”, Verdi’s “Don Carlo”, Offenbach’s “Die Großherzogin von Gerolstein”, and Torsten Rasch’s “The Other Wife”.

Rasch was born in 1965 in Dresden. As a member of “Hikashu” in Japan for a while since 1990, he worked on the production of movie music and others. “The Other Wife” is handled by German novelist Helmut Krausser. Among the new productions, Amon Miyamoto is directed at “Madama Butterfly”, and Kenzo Takada handles costumes. Also, Anna Netrepko will challenge for the first time as a “Don Carlo” Elisabetta role. Christian Teieleman conducts “Don Carlo” and “Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg”.
