LONDON 〓 Fleming will also debut musicals in the UK

Renée Fleming, the leading soprano singer in the U.S., will be making a musical debut in London next July. Fleming is said to retire from the stage of opera in 2017, but debut in Broadway with “Living on Love” in 2015 before that, was nominated for “drama league award”. And this year she was awarded the supporting actress award of the 72nd “Tony Award” at “Carousel”. Adam Guettel’s “Light in the Piazza” will appear in London. Composer Götel is the grandson of Richard Rogers, and in this work he won six categories including the Best Music Award of the “Tony Award” in 2005. The performance begins on July 14 at the Royal Festival Hall.
