LEEDS 〓 American pianist Eric Lu won the international piano competition

Leeds international piano competition closed on the 15th, American pianist Eric Lu (20) won the 1st prize, together with Fanny Waterman Gold Medal, Terence Judd Hall Orchestra Prize Awarded. The prize money is 25,000 pounds.

Lu is the 4th prize of Chopin International Piano Competition in 2015.

2nd prize is German pianist Mario Haring (28), also won the Yalta Menuhin Award. The 3rd prize was Xinyuan Wang (23) in China.

The competition was held in 1961, two years ago when the first competition was held. After officially starting in 1963, it is held every three years in principle. Founder Waterman(98) is to retire this year.
