SAN FRANCISCO 〓 San Francisco Opera announces its performance lineup for the 2025/2026 season

The San Francisco Opera in the United States has announced its performance lineup for the 2025/2026 season. The new season will open with a new production of Verdi’s Rigoletto and close with Richard Strauss’ Elektra. Both will be conducted by Music Director Unsong Kim.

There is also another new production, the world premiere of “The Monkey King” by Ruo Huang, a composer from Hainan Island in China who now lives in the United States. The production will be directed by Tony Award-winner Diane Paulus.

In addition, immediately after the September opening, there will be an open-air concert conducted by Kim in “Robin Williams Meado” in Golden Gate Park, a popular place for San Francisco residents to relax.
