NUREMBERG 〓 Irish conductor Killian Farrell appointed as next music director of the State Theater

The Nuremberg State Theater in Germany has announced that Irish conductor Killian Farrell will become its next music director. His term will begin with the 2027/2028 season.He will succeed Roland Böer, who has held the position since the 2023/2024 season and will step down at the end of the 2026/2027 season.

Farrell is a 31-year-old native of Dublin. He has been Music Director at the State Theater of Meiningen since the 2023/2024 season. He studied at Dublin Institute of Technology and Trinity College, and furthered his studies at the National Opera Studio in London.
