SALZBURG 〓 Mozart Week will stage a new production of “The Magic Flute” in 2026

Rolando Villazón, the artistic director of the Salzburg Mozart Week, announced on February 4th that a new production of “The Magic Flute” will be performed at next year’s festival.

2026 is a milestone year, marking the 270th anniversary of Mozart’s birth and the 70th anniversary of the festival, and the festival will run from January 22nd to February 1st. The details of the program are scheduled to be announced in mid-May.

The production of “The Magic Flute” will be directed by Villazon, and Robert González-Monjas will conduct the Mozarteum Orchestra. The Queen of the Night will be played by Kathryn Lewek, Sarastro by Franz-Josef Selig, Pamina by Emily Pogorelc, and Tamino by Magnus Dietrich.
