BERLIN 〓 The Berlin Philharmoniker has announced the departure of Daniel Stabrawa

The Berliner Philharmoniker has announced the departure of concertmaster Daniel Stabrawa. He has been in office for 35 years. He will leave the orchestra after the 2020/2021 season.

Stabrava is 65 years old born in Krakow, Poland. After studying at the Krakow Conservatory, he became the concertmaster of the Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra in Krakow in 1979. He was transferred to the Berlin Philharmoniker in 1983 by being invited by Herbert von Karajan, who was a life conductor and artistic director.

In 1986, he was promoted to a concertmaster with three people, succeeding Michel Schwalbé. He led the orchestra with Leon Spierer and Toru Yasunaga. From 1986 to 2000, he also taught younger generations at the Orchestra Academy. He has also recently started his conducting activities.
