EDINBURGH 〓 Fergus Linehan extend contract with Edinburgh International Arts Festival

The Edinburgh International Arts Festival extended the contract with Fergus Linehan, the director of the art festival, until 2022. Linehan inherited Baton from Sir Johnathan Mills since 2015 and became the director.

Linehan is an Irishman, a person who has been leading Dublin Dance Festival from 1999 to 2004, Sydney Festival from 2004 to 2009. Being a director of the contemporary music department of Sydney Opera House until 2012, he garnered attention with a novel programming organization that does not adhere to music genres.

After taking office, he is promoting new routes, such as taking the simultaneous holding of the International Art Festival and “Edinburgh Fringe”. The art festival in 2018 is from August 3rd to 27th. The schedule will be announced on March 14, 2018.
