The Gewandhausorchester Leipzig has announced a lineup of performances for the 2020/2021 season.

According to the announcement, the biggest topic of the new season is the “Mahler Festival” to be held in May 2021. Ten orchestras from around the world will work on all Mahler symphonies.

The new season will focus on Beethoven, celebrating its 250th birthday, and Stravinsky, celebrating its 50th anniversary. Sofia Gubaidulina has been selected as “Residence Artist”.
