VIENNA 〓 Vienna Philharmonic is postponing this year’s Summer Night Concert

2020/03/26

The Vienna Philharmonic is postponing this year’s Summer Night Concert in front of Schönbrunn Palace due to the new coronavirus outbreak.

Instead of on May 21, that open-air event is now to take place on September 18.

The Vienna Philharmonic’s Summer Night Concert has attracted around 100,000 visitors in recent years. In 2019, the event was broadcast in more than 80 countries.

That concert has the theme “love” in this year and includes music from concerts, films, ballets, operas and operettas.

Jonas Kaufmann is appointed as a soloist, who will sing arias by Massenet, Kalman and Puccini.
