The Salzburg Easter Festival has announced a new schedule. Festival will be held from October 29th to November 1st. However, the appearances of Anna Netrebko and her husband Yusif Eyvazov have been cancelled. It is said that their schedule overlapped with the appearance schedule of the Vienna State Opera.

The festival was originally scheduled to be held during Easter in April, but it was postponed due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection. This year, Puccini’s opera “Turandot” was scheduled to be performed, and Netrebko’s appearance attracted a lot of attention.

For this reason, the festival will replace “Turandot” with a gala concert named “Winter Storm” conducted by Christian Thielemann on October 31st. The concert is composed of the music of Wagner’s “The Ring of the Nibelung”, featuring Anya Campe, Stephen Gourde, and René Pape.
