Labor and management at the San Francisco Opera—where orchestra members had been on strike since September 12—reached an agreement and signed a four-year tentative contract. Verdi’s *Simon Boccanegra*, the opening production of the new season, was performed on September 19 and made free to the public.

Two performances of this production of *Simon Boccanegra* were forced to be cancelled due to a strike; three performances remain, scheduled for the 22nd, 25th, and 27th. Music Director Eun Sun Kim conducts, and the cast features Amartuvshin Enkhbat, Eleonora Buratto, Christian Van Horn, and Joshua Guerrero.
