MUNICH 〓 Naoka Aoki passed the audition for the Munich Philharmonic Concertmaster

Violinist Naoka Aoki will join the concertmasters of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra. It was decided at the audition that was held recently. Akira becomes the first female concertmaster of the orchestra.

Aoki is 28 years old born in Tokyo. She pursued the Soloist Diploma Course at the Toho College of Music in Tokyo. She won second prize at the Long- Thibaud-Crespin 2014. She also won second prize at the 4th China International Violin Competition(Qingdao) in 2014.

From 2011 to 2015, she studied at the Royal College of Music. She is currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music. She also regularly attends master-classes with Prof. Ana Chumachenco since 2010.
