The term of Katharina Wagner, general director of the German Bayreuth Festival, has been extended to 2025. She is currently 41 years old. Daughter between Wolfgang Wagner, who led the post-war festival, and his second wife. The great-granddaughter of composer Richard Wagner. She has taken over the operation of the music festival with her sister Eva Wagner-Pasquier since 2008, but since 2015 she has been the sole director of the festival.
