Simon Rattle has extended his contract as chief conductor of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra (Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks). Rattle has held the position since the 2023/2024 season; this renewal extends his tenure by five years, running through the end of the 2032/2033 season. Rattle, a native of Liverpool, UK, is 71 years old.
