INNSBRUCK 〓 Ainars Rubikis becomes Principal Conductor of the Tiroler Symphony Orchestra

Austria’s Tiroler Symphony Orchestra Innsbruck has announced the appointment of Ainars Rubikis as its Principal conductor. His term of office is for three years, beginning with the 2025/26 season, succeeding Kerem Hasan, who served in that capacity from 2019 to 2023.

He then served as Music Director and Chief Conductor of the Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre in Russia from 2012 to 2014. From 2018 to 2022, he will be the general music director of the Komische Oper Berlin.

In the meantime, he has made numerous guest appearances with opera houses and orchestras in the world. He is also set to assume the position of General Music Director of the Kassel State Theater in Germany in the fall of 2025.
