The Puccini Festival has announced a performance schedule for 2021. The theme for 2021 is “Many Kiss”, and the session is from July 22nd to August 23rd. A total of three operas will be performed, two new productions and one Revival.
New productions are “Tosca” and “Turandot”. The new production of “Tosca” will be directed by Stefania Sandrelli, who will make her debut at the music festival.
Hiromi Omura will be appointed as the leading character Tosca, Vincenzo Costanzo will be appointed as Cavaradossi, and Franco Vassaro will be appointed as Scarpia. The conductor is Alberto Veronesi.
Meanwhile, “Turandot” will be directed by Daniel Abbado. Catherine Naglestad will be appointed as Turandot and Ivan Magri will be appointed as Calaf. The operas will be conducted by John Axelrod.
The festival will showcase a revival of “La Bohème” starring Ivan Avon Rivas as Rodolfo, Polina Pastirchak as Mimì, and Maria Chabounia as Musetta. The operas will be conducted by Enrico Calesso.
The Festival also has a symphonic concert on August 5. Roberto Abbado will conduct this concert.
