LONDON 〓 Karina Canellakis named principal guest conductor of the London Philharmonic

The London Philharmonic Orchestra will have Karina Canellakis from the United States as its principal guest conductor. The term of office is from the 2020/2021 season, which begins in September.

Canellakis is 38 years old born in New York. She has been the lead conductor of the Dutch Radio Philharmonic Orchestra(Radio Filharmonisch Orkest) since the 2019/2020 season.

She studied violin at the The Juilliard School, then worked as an orchestra academy OF the Berlin Philharmonic before turning into a conductor. She also won the Georg Solti Conductor Competition in 2016.
