R.I.P 〓 Elio Boncompagni, Italian Conductor

Italian conductor Elio Boncompagni died on November 9 in Florence at the age of 86. After studying the violin and composition at the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory in Florence, he studied conducting with Franco Ferrara at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome. Later, he studied as an assistant to Tullio Serafin.

He served as the principal conductor of the La Monnaie in Brussels and the artistic director of the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples. Music director of Aachen City Theater from 1996 to 2002. Although he has a strong image of an opera conductor, he has worked on numerous orchestra concerts and has performed 120 orchestras.
