Russian Soprano Singer Anna Netrebko has canceled her appearance at the Bayreuth Festival. Her performance was supposed to be her festival debut, and she was supposed to sing “Lohengrin” Elsa on August 14th and 18th. The substitute is Annette Dasch. In 2010-2013 and 2015, he sang Elsa in “Lohengrin”, directed by Hans Neuenfels.
Netrebco canceled two performances of “Adriana Lecouvreur” at the Salzburg Festival last week. At that time, a doctor diagnosed that she needed three weeks of rest, and she gave up her appearance at the Bayreuth Festival.
Meanwhile, it was announced that she will appear in “Tosca” at the Salzburg Festival next year, when the music festival celebrates its 100th anniversary. She sang Tosca for the first time in New York at the Metropolitan Opera in 2018. She was also announced to sing Tosca at the opening performance of Teatro alla Scala on 7 December this year.
