SCHWETZINGEN 〓 SWR Schwetzingen Festival has been canceled

Due to the spread of the new coronavirus, the SWR Schwetzingen Festival(SWR Schwetzinger Festspiele) has been canceled.

The number of infected people in Germany is approaching 20,000 as of the 21st (62 deaths) and is still increasing.

Germany’s largest state, Bavaria, announced Germany’s first blockade on the 20th. During the two-week interim period, fundamental restrictions on going out were regulated.

The SWR Schwetzingen Festival was founded in 1952 by South German Broadcasting (now Southwest German Broadcasting = SWR).

Schwetzingen is a small town next to Heidelberg, Germany’s leading university city. The music festival is held for about one month from the end of April to the end of May.
