The preliminary round has been postponed for the 18th Chopin International Piano Competition. Postponed from April to September.

The Polish government has restricted the holding of cultural events for the time being following the spread of the new coronavirus.

The postponement was announced by the Polish National Chopin Institute, which hosts the competition.

The preliminary round was to be held in Warsaw from April 17-28.

Participants were 164, and their faces were just announced on March 9.
