NEW YORK 〓 Rattle is only closed for one day

2019/11/01

Simon Rattle, who will conduct the performance of “Der Rosenkavalier” at the Metropolitan Opera, will only ask for a replacement on December 23rd. The substitute is Gareth Morrell.

The Metropolitan Opera “Der Rosenkavalier” will open on November 13 and will close on January 4 next year. Rattle was scheduled to conduct all performances. The reason is unknown.

Ratle’s first podium at the Metropolitan Opera was “Pelléas et Mélisande” in the 2010/2011 season. At that time, Mrs. Rattle, Magdalena Kožená, was also on the stage. She will also appear in this “Der Rosenkavalier” as an Octavian. It became a couple’s performance again.
