｜The Royal Swedish Academy of Music announced the winners of this year’s “Polar Music Prize”. There are three winners. In the classical Music field, German violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter was awarded.
Other recipients are hip-hop artist Joseph Saddler, known as “Grand Master Flash”, and Music Charity Organization “Playing for Change”. “Playing for Change” was a charity multimedia music project established by American producer Mark Johnson in 2002.
The music award was founded in 1989 by Stig Anderson, a manager of Swedish legendary group “ABBA”, with winners starting in 1992.
In the classical Music field, Mstislav Rostropovich, Pierre Boulez, Cecilia Bartoli and others have awarded. The prize money is 1 million Swedish kroner (about 110,000 dollars).
The award ceremony will take place in Stockholm on 11th June, and the prize will be awarded by King Carl XVI Gustaf.
