Around the Music Festival

Pianist Daniil Trifonov has cancelled his scheduled appearances at Austria’s Grafenegg Festival on August 22 and the Salzburg Festival on August 29 and 30 due to a herniated disc. Denis Kozhukhin will step in for him at Grafenegg, while Yuja Wang will take his place in Salzburg.

In Grafenegg, the schedule included a chamber music concert with violinist Sergei Dogadin, while in Salzburg, it featured a concert with the Vienna Philharmonic—the event that concludes the music festival—where the plan was to perform a Rachmaninoff concerto under the baton of Andris Nelsons.
