VIENNA 〓 Nézet-Séguin to Conduct Summer Night Concert, Vienna Philharmonic Announces

The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra has announced that this year’s Summer Night Concert will take place on June 8. The concert will take place at Schönbrunn Palace, a summer event that attracts 100,000 people and is broadcast in over 80 countries.

This year’s conductor is Yannick Nézet-Séguin, who will be making his first appearance in Summer Night Concert. The soloist will be mezzo-soprano Elīna Garanča, who will sing arias from Bizet’s “Carmen,” Gounod’s “Sappho,” and Saint-Saens’ “Samson et Dalila.
