STOCKHOLM 〓 Blomstedt is back

2022/09/20

Herbert Blomstedt, the longest-serving conductor in the world, made a successful return to the scene on September 19, when he appeared at a rehearsal of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra.

In Stockholm, he will conduct Honegger’s Symphony No. 3 and Brahms’ Symphony No. 4 on the 21st and 22nd.

Blomstedt, now 95, was injured in a fall in Berlin in late June and cancelled all subsequent plans for rehabilitation.

After Stockholm, Blomstedt will be a guest conductor with the Berlin Philharmonic on September 29 and 30 and October 1, conducting Schubert’s Symphony No. 3 and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7.
