CORREGGIO 〓 Leo Nucci has announced his retirement

This day has finally come! Legendary baritone singer Leo Nucci “declared” his retirement from singer activity on the night of the 17th. It was declared at the Gala Concert that honored Luciano Pavarotti at the Asioli Theater in Correggio, Italy.

He has professed for the last time on October 10th at the Teatro Regio di Parma concert. At the concert on the 17th, he applauded with great applause, saying, “I had already decided to close the curtain, but made an exception to commemorate my friend Luciano.” Although he retires from singer activities, he will be involved in opera as a director.

Nucci was born in 1942 in Castiglione dei Pepoli, near Bologna, 77 years old. He debuted as an opera singer at the Spoleto Festival in 1967, singing the figaro of “Il barbiere di Siviglia”, and since 1969 has been active as a Chorus Member of the Teatro alla Scala. He won first place in the 1973 Viotti International Music Competition, and in 1975 he sang Shonal at “La Boheme” in the Teatro La Fenice and restarted as a soloist.

Since then, he has been active in famous theaters. Although it has a wide repertoire, it is famous as the “best Verdi Baritone”, among them, Rigoletto’s main character Rigoletto is unrivaled.
