Ma Vlast:Kubelik&Czech Po … 1990 Prague

Live recording of the opening concert of “Prague Spring” in 1990. Every year, the music festival is known for opening the curtain with his masterpiece “My Country” on May 12, the anniversary of Czech composer Smetana, but in 1990 when this recording took place, 1946 It was a special year for the music festival with a long history of establishing the year. It was because it was the first music festival to achieve democratization with the “Velvet Revolution” of the previous year 1989. Rafael Kubelík (1914 – 1996), the master of the Czech Republic, was the president of Václav Havel, who led the democratization, to greet the commanders of historic concerts with thanksgiving. Kubelik served as Principal Conductor of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra as vice president of Václav Talich since 1942, and was also directing the 1st music festival. However, he disliked the Czech republic in 1948, exiled to the UK with his legs guest at the Edinburgh International Art Festival that year. In 1986 he was also retiring from activities. With such great musics returning home for the first time in 42 years, the tension of the concert realized only by the concert was realized, and music and the enthusiasm of the venue will be greatly uplifted as the performance progresses. Even when I listen to it many times, it is moving.
